Training
The many "helping hands" of In-House Hospice & Palliative Care volunteers assist us in providing quality, coordinated care to our patients. In-House Hospice & Palliative Care has a dedicated volunteer force of caring individuals, and we offer opportunities in a diversity of areas. Whether you can give two to four hours a week or a month, any help is appreciated.
All of our volunteers receive training in providing comfort and support to families facing end-of-life issues. Topics covered during volunteer training may include:
- philosophy of hospice care
- communication techniques
- identifying and respecting cultural differences
- spirituality
- grief and the healing process.
Without the contributions of each and every one of the volunteers, we would not be able to provide the level of care and comfort to our patients for which we are known.
