Our History

In late 1997, associates of The Mobile Medical Group (MMG), formerly The Nursing Home Group, recognized a void in the continuum of services relative to end-of-life care in the nursing facilities they serviced. Hospice services were available; however, consistent feedback from facility staff indicated significant difficulties in integrating the palliative approach of hospice with the curative approach of traditional healthcare. This is not surprising given that as of 1995, 97% of all hospice care days in Michigan were provided in the home setting.

Based on this feedback and MMG's long and successful history of providing quality services to nursing facilities, MMG assisted in the development of Lighthouse Hospice. Tandem Healthcare then purchased Lighthouse Hospice in 2005 when our company became In-House Hospice Solutions. In 2009, a new logo was developed with the company name “In-House Hospice”. In 2010, the company underwent another logo and name change to coincide with the addition of palliative care to its services offered. Licensed by the State of Michigan and certified by CMS in August 1998, In-House Hospice & Palliative Care contracts with over 180 facilities across Michigan and Ohio and has a strategic plan to expand further within the Midwest.
