Why Volunteer?

Volunteering makes an impact. It can help build new skills and adds balance and variety to a resume. In this age of networking, it can help you create useful contacts, build great friendships, and improve the quality of life. It also helps build your community.

In-House Hospice & Palliative Care patients and families benefit enormously from the help and support of volunteers. As our volunteer coordinator says, “Volunteers are the heart and soul of In-House.”

In return for giving their time and expertise, volunteers also have much to gain. Volunteer work at In-House Hospice & Palliative Care offers many opportunities including:

  • A worthwhile and rewarding role
  • The ability to contribute to the quality of patients' care
  • The chance to feel valued
  • Useful experience towards further training and career choices
  • Increased confidence
  • Increased skills in dealing with people
  • Meeting new people and making new friends
